About Us

Hey, I’m Carmen Mauricio, the baker behind Austinite Delights here in Austin, Texas. I actually started my journey in culinary school but had to step away when life got tough. After hitting what felt like rock bottom, I decided to teach myself. I didn’t have the money to go back to school, but I had passion—and that was enough to start baking for friends and family. Over time, word spread, and what started as side projects turned into real orders.

During COVID, I realized I couldn’t keep working a job I hated. I took a leap, went all in, and started building something for myself. It wasn’t easy—and still isn’t—but I’m proud of what I’ve created. Every cake, every cookie, every challenge—I take it seriously and put everything I’ve got into it.

As a Latina woman running her own business, I know what it’s like to start from scratch. I’m here for the underdogs, for people chasing something better, and for anyone who believes we can grow through the struggle. I love working with new ideas, different budgets, and helping people bring their vision to life. Outside of baking, I’m probably hanging with my dogs (Mia & Lola), dancing, traveling, or hitting the trails. If you’re looking for treats made with heart—I’ve got you.
